1 year and 1 month later....

Whew, has one year of marriage flown by! James and I are still living in our tiny apartment in Provo, Ut. It is the quintessential "first" apartment for a newly-wed couple. We love it, though, and have no complaints...other than the lack of ventilation...and the pipes that sound like someone is drilling...and the sound of chairs scraping the kitchen floor upstaris...but truly other than that, no complaints!

I am currently working as a school psychologist for the Nebo school district. I work at Park Elementary in Spanish Fork part of the week and then at Mapleton Jr. High in Mapleton the other part of the week. The job is enjoyable, fast-paced, and challenging. I've learned a lot and, if I had to narrow down the most important thing I feel I've learned so far, it is that the importance of consistent and good parenting! I love working with kids and learning from them. Children have a beautiful way of reminding us of the basics in life. I'm grateful to have earned my Ed.S. degree and definitely benfited from the rigor of the program from which I graduated.

James is working as a P.E. teacher at an elementary school in Spanish Fork. He is also working part time at the church distribution center in Orem. He enjoys both jobs. He does a fantastic job with the children that he works with and they love him! He is totally in his element with that job. He is currently applying to law school to which he hopes attending in the Fall of this upcoming year. That may mean a move to the East coast.... More to come on that when we know!

Though we were sad to be away from Temma's family this season, we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas with James' family in Utah. We ate way too much food and laughed a whole lot! We also enjoyed spending some time with Temma and James' extended family members up in Salt Lake, Woods Cross, and Layton. The Christmas season is truly a great time to rekindle family relations and share in the joy of celebrating the Savior's birth and life.

We hope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas worship and celebration. We feel blessed on a daily basis for the wonderful friends and family that have been given to us. Enjoy the holiday pictures that we posted. Also, James put together a fabulous video highlighting some of our favorite activities that we've enjoyed over the past 2 years since we've dated/been engaged/been married. Merry Christmas, and wishes for a wonderful 2010!

Temma! So good to see how you guys are doing :) Jared and I are excited to hear that you might be coming over to the east side for law school in the fall??? Where? (Close to Ohio hopefully!) Anyway--Jared loves law school but has one piece of advice: the job market for attorneys sucks right now... and in his (pessimistic but realistic) opinion, it won't be much better in 3.5 years. He's got an amazing resume and top grades in his class but still has had NO LUCK finding an internship next summer. The two should definitely chat if he's serious about it!
